Kaieteur National Park (KNP), Guyana’s first legally protected area is known for the majestic Kaieteur Falls, considered to be one of the highest single drop (741 ft) water falls in the world. However, in addition to the majestic Kaieteur Falls, the rich biodiversity, some of which are endemic to Kaieteur National Park ensures a highly educational and informative experience while traversing through its pristine Amazonian rainforest. The day tour begins by traveling by air for approximately one hour fifteen minutes over dense rainforest before landing on the Kaieteur Plateau (approximately 600 meters or 1,800 feet above sea level). The tour at Kaieteur usually takes approximately two hours before settling down for lunch.
After a truly amazing experience at Kaieteur, you could return to Georgetown or continue for another thirty minutes via aircraft onto Orinduik Falls on the Guyana/ Brazil border.Flying over the jungle’s canopy, suddenly changes into the flat grasslands of the Savannahs Orinduik completely contrasts Kaieteur and offer visitors the opportunity to bathe in a natural Jacuzzi.
Both Kaieteur and Orinduik are equipped with guest houses that allows for overnight stays.
